2008 NWCDC SPRING TURKEY HUNTING SEASON
The Newark Watershed Conservation & Development Corporation will offer a four week season plus the four (4) consecutive Saturday hunting period.
The wild turkey population on the watershed is healthy and on the upswing. This makes a wild turkey harvest on the watershed possible.
For details of the wild turkey hunting season, including dates, please refer to the NJDEP Division of Fish & Wildlife - Regulations
The taking of one small male wild turkey with a shotgun or bow by holders of a special spring turkey permit and nwcdc hunting permit will be permitted on areas open to hunting in the watershed.
Except for areas designated on the maps as “no hunting” and the Echo Lake safety buffer, turkey hunting is permitted throughout the watershed.
Please adhere to all nwcdc rules & regulations, buffer zones, restricted areas & state safety zones.
State conservation officers and watershed security staff will be patrolling the watershed.
